Scientific pedigree

Intellection's QEMSCAN, now world renowned within the mining industry, began in the late 1970s.

Then CSIRO’s Dr Alan F Reid invented the QEM*SEM technology - using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and x-rays to analyse and identify materials.

By 1985, CSIRO's systems were being sold commercially.

In the 1990s, scientists improved the robustness of the QEM*SEM technological platform, running the system within a Windows-based PC environment.

This innovation created the first QEMSCAN system.
